Contemplative Spiritual Care

Contemplative Spiritual Care

It is a type of accompaniment on the personal journey, based on a body-mind relationship as an anchor to respond to universal spiritual needs, present throughout life and in death.
It is based on a set of meditative practices and resources inspired by Tibetan Buddhism and based on Contemplative Neurosciences.

Spiritual needs are common to human beings, namely the need to experience genuine connection, to understand and transform suffering, to find meaning in life and sources of peace. When people face critical moments in their lives – such as sudden changes, illness, ageing, death, and grief – if spiritual needs are not recognised or remain unmet, they can become sources of suffering, exacerbating symptoms of physical pain and emotional suffering. If, on the contrary, they are acknowledged and listened to, they can become resources.

Research reveals that ongoing contemplative practices, including meditation, contribute to improving attention and memory, reducing stress, increasing confidence in challenging situations, promoting a greater sense of self-awareness, self-acceptance, well-being and resilience, whilst preventing burnout and increasing compassionate responses.

How can I stay present in challenging moments without losing focus and balance?

The Contemplative Care Model integrates a practical plan for everyday life, helping the person to connect with their own inner wisdom and, to use their internal resources to stimulate awareness, inner balance, authentic presence and a compassionate attitude, whilst cultivating a mind that sees through all changes and reframes what it experiences.

The sessions mirror this peaceful environment of deep listening, compassionate acceptance and recognition of what is revealed. They are a training in the qualities of the human spirit.

The model is for all those who seek to live more fully, integrating the challenges that life brings, regardless of whether or not they follow any religious tradition.

Highly suitable for informal caregivers, people in the process of bereavement, patients on the threshold of life and death, health professionals and social services professionals.
